Call for Submission

CSMSS Journal of Innovative Dentistry   is a Biannual electronic journal of CSMSS Dental College & Hospital publishing research papers in broad specialty areas of Dental  sciences that are deemed to be of practical value for the daily practice of medicine. It is a multispecialty journal. The journal tries to adhere to the guidelines of COPE. The journal is open access and freely accessible for all. The journal also does not charge any article submission, processing or publication fee.

We invite UG-PG students/ researchers/ faculty to submit their research work as original articles, short articles, review articles, qualitative research, case reports, case series or letters to the editor.

General Guidelines

Manuscripts addressing topics in any discipline of dental sciences that are deemed to be of practical value for the daily practice of dentistry will be considered for review by this journal. All contributions should be submitted, electronically to https://www.cjid.in/cjidupload/ Authors are requested to submit the text, tables and artwork in electronic form to this address.

Only previously unpublished work should be submitted. Material that has been partly presented or presented as an abstract elsewhere should be acknowledged in a note. All individuals who are listed as authors of a manuscript must have participated sufficiently in the conception and design of the work and analysis of data (if applicable) as well as in the writing of the manuscript. The authors must also believe the manuscript represents valid work and must have reviewed the final version of the manuscript and approved it for publication. Materials submitted to the journal must not be under consideration for publication elsewhere. Manuscripts should be in English and must conform to the journal format. Manuscripts that do not comply with the journal requirements may be returned without review by the editor. All manuscripts will be subjected to peer review and revision. Accepted articles will become the property of the Journal, and excerpts or parts may not be published elsewhere without written permission from both the editors and the publishers.

All manuscripts must be submitted online. Authors submitting for the first time will need to register and then submit their papers online. Manuscripts should not be submitted unless registration process is complete. If the editor/reviewer suggests/requests any changes in the manuscripts, it is the corresponding author’s responsibility to ensure that a revised version is resubmitted through the Journal site. Because the review process will be conducted in a blinded format, you will be asked to provide separate files for your title page (containing all of the author details and contact information) along with a blinded version of your paper containing no author details or identity revealing information. Please refrain from using end notes as references or automatic list numbering because these features are lost in conversion. Simply type the reference number in parentheses in the text and superscript it and type the reference list using Arabic numbers. The references should be in Vancouver style. Formatting such as Greek letters, italics, super and subscripts maybe used in the test as per need. The coding scheme for such elements must be consistent throughout.

Authors are responsible for applying for permission for both print and electronic rights for all borrowed materials and are responsible for paying any fees related to the applications of these permissions.check the “guidelines for authors” for more details

REFERENCES

Reference numbers in the text should follow numerical order and be enclosed in parentheses or superscripted. References are listed in the order in which they are referred in the text, not in alphabetical order. The reference style used by this journal is Vancouver numbered. The reference style used by this journal will be applied to the accepted article by the publisher at proof stage. Please ensure that every reference cited in the text is also present in the reference list (and vice versa). Unpublished results and personal communications are not recommended in the reference list, but may be mentioned in the text. If these references are included in the reference list they should follow the standard reference style of the journal and should include a substitution of the publication date with either 'Unpublished results' or 'Personal communication'. Citation of a reference as 'in press' implies that the item has been accepted for publication. Authors preferably refrain from quoting references more than 15 years old.

Increased discoverability of research and high quality peer review are ensured by online links to the sources cited. Hence data provided in the references should be correct. When copying references please be careful as they may already contain an error. In order to allow us to create links to abstracting and indexing services, such as Scopus, CrossRef and PubMed, please ensure that data provided in the references are correct. Please note that incorrect surnames, journal/book titles, publication year and pagination may prevent link creation. Use of the Digital Object Identifier services (DOI) is encouraged. A DOI can be used to cite and link to electronic articles where an article is in-press and full citation details are not yet known, but the article is available online. A DOI is guaranteed never to change, so you can use it as a permanent link to any electronic article. Please note the format of such citations should be in the same style as all other references in the paper.

Web References

The full URL should be given and the date when the reference was last accessed. Any further information, if known, (DOI, author names, dates, reference to a source publication, etc.) should also be given. Journal names should be abbreviated according to the List of Title Word Abbreviations. The complete web address should be given mentioning; (Available at :……………………………………) .Then the date of last access should be mentioned as; (Accessed on: 1st February 2018). For standard details authors are requested to refer; https://www.nlm.nih.gov/bsd/uniform_requirements.html.

4. TABLES

All tables must be numbered sequentially in Arabic numerals in the order of their citation in the text. Each table should be typed double-spaced on a separate sheet of paper and should be accompanied by a clear and specific title. Please submit tables as editable text and not as images. Tables should be placed on separate page(s) at the end. Number tables consecutively in accordance with their appearance in the text and place any table notes below the table body. Be sparing in the use of tables and ensure that the data presented in them do not duplicate results described elsewhere in the article. Please avoid using vertical rules and shading in table cells. The table number and title should be at the top and centrally placed. The title should be self explanatory. (E.g. Table 5: MEDICAL EMERGENCIES IN THE  DENTAL PRACTICE). The title should be in bold. The table should not have vertical lines.

5. FIGURES AND FIGURE LEGENDS

Figures must be submitted in electronic format. Images should be provided in JPG (JPEG) or PNG format. Graphics software such as Photoshop and Illustrator and not presentation software such as Power Point may be used to create art. Color images must be CMYK, at least 300 DPI, with a digital color proof and not a color laser print or color photography. Please include hardware and software information in addition to file names. For electronic artwork, make sure you use uniform lettering and sizing of your original artwork. Use only Times New Roman font of 12 size throughout. The title may be of higher font. Number the illustrations according to their sequence in the text. Use a logical naming convention for your artwork files. Provide captions to illustrations separately. Size the illustrations close to the desired dimensions of the published version as given below. Submit each illustration as a separate file. If your electronic artwork is created in a Microsoft Office application (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) then please supply 'as is' in the native document format. Regardless of the application used other than Microsoft Office, when your electronic artwork is finalized, please 'Save as' or convert the images to one of the following formats (note the resolution requirements for line drawings, halftones, and line/halftone combinations given below):

Do not supply files that are too low in resolution or submit graphics that are disproportionately large for the content. All the figures must be of standard size as given below for inclusion in the print version.
